WWII Medals

The Military Tradition

World War II created an unprecedented increase in the production of medals. The sheer volume of military achievements and casualties forced manufacturers to adapt mass production methods equivalent to many other wartime industries. For example, in anticipation of a possible mainland invasion of Japan, a quantity of Purple Heart medals was stockpiled that still exists today. In spite of the volume, the military standards and precision of each medal had to be maintained. The sacrifice of the greatest generation is still felt in the generations that followed.

A Part of World History

The war involved over 300 million soldiers from nearly every country and territory in the world. Each nation carried the desire to honor their heroes. As a result, WWII medals from around the world have become collector's items as they illustrate the diverse nations and campaigns.

Preserving the Legacy of Medals

A common desire among veterans and their families is to preserve this great legacy in some way. World War II medals and ribbons are best preserved in a shadow box. Often, UltraThin will create a custom designed display showcasing the unique military awards along with photos, uniforms and patches along with flags. When necessary, we can restore deteriorated medals and ribbons to their original pristine glory. This type of preservation allows family and friends to honor their veterans for generations to come.
